Excited To Share Album "Sing Your Own Song'"
As of an hour ago, our North40 album, Sing Your Own Song, has been completed. We can’t possibly express to you how elated we are to have finally reached this milestone! Over the last 3 years we have crafted over 100 songs to say with music what we wanted to convey to our listeners. As well as pulled a couple from the back 40 catalog to round out the project.
As we listen down to each song that made the cut, Heather and myself had the realization of the immense amount of love that is now imbued on this shiny little compact disc. So many moments of inspiration, countless cups of coffee, hours and hours of dedication by so many enlisted to join the ranks of citizenship AND just plain ole roll up your sleeves, wipe the sweat from your brow hard work!
As we were hand picking our producers, engineers and musicians we were honing an artistic direction authentic only to us. This, as with all note worthy endeavors, took time…With each batch of favorite little tunes, we had the pleasure of watching them magically grow wings and transform through the brilliance of the Nashville “A TEAM” session players. After every added B3 or steel guitar overdub, background vocal, percussion addition, remix, re-sing etc., we are admittedly exhausted and yet exhilarated.
As we honor the task we have just accomplished and the time it took to do so, there is an immense amount of gratitude. Not only for the completion of the seemingly insurmountable but also for the lessons and growth, musically, emotionally and spiritually, the deepened friendships and for the simplistic beauty of it all that is now within earshot. We have, through this three year season been challenged unequivocally with the loss of Heather’s daddy Bob Herren on 4-17-10, the loss of my mother Patricia Randall on 8-30-12 and my daddy Bob Randall on 9-1-13. We have had a tremendous amount of individual and collective hardships and yet the blessings have sustained us on the grand scale! Through it all, we were nudged and so determined to plow forward.
Today, we sit in awe and feel compelled to just soak it all in, every moment, every tear, every fight, smile, sigh, lyric and note because today, today we earned wisdom, today, we did something that almost no other 45 year old women have done, we finished a great record!
We look forward to sharing this gift of our music with you! With the compass pointing true north, the journey continues and we believe anything is possible!
